ANSI Logo, Icon and Marks

"ANSI" and the ANSI logo are registered trademarks of the American National Standards Institute.

ANSI does not itself develop standards or certify management systems, products, services, materials or personnel. ANSI does not permit, under any circumstances, the use of the ANSI logo. Doing so would give the false impression that ANSI carries out certification activities, or has approved or authorized the organization using its logo. Examples of unacceptable use of the ANSI logo include use on products or websites, or in marketing materials, advertisements and company letterheads.

ANSI will take whatever actions it considers necessary to prevent the misuse of its logo.

The ANSI logo cannot be used by members, standards developers or certification programs in connection with their promotions or communications regarding ANSI affiliation, approval or certification. However, ANSI members, approved standards developers and certification programs may use the ANSI Member Icon and Approved American National Standard and ANSI Accredited Certification Program marks, as set forth below, which have been designed so that they resemble the ANSI logo, but carry their own distinct message.

ANSI Member Icon

Recognizing that strong brand recognition is imperative when solidifying the linkage between an organization and its members, the American National Standards Institute Membership Department has introduced the ANSI Member Icon, a graphic for use exclusively by ANSI members. The icon may be used on the website of an ANSI member as a mechanism to demonstrate its affiliation with the Institute and the U.S. standards and conformity assessment community. The graphic may also be used as a hyperlink to the ANSI Online website.

ANSI Approved American National Standards

Standards developers accredited by the ANSI may choose to use the Approved American National Standard mark. Standards developers may no longer use ANSI’s logo on the covers or inside front matter of approved American National Standards. Developers that have previously published ANSI’s logo on their standards should transition to the Approved American National Standard mark as soon as possible. Developers shall also note that standards currently carrying the ANSI logo do not need to be immediately republished; rather the covers shall be revised with the appropriate logo or text at the time of the next revision, reaffirmation or reprint.

ANSI Accredited Certification Programs

Certification programs that have been accredited by ANSI may choose to use one of the ANSI Accredited Certification Program marks. Those programs for which a mark is available are the ANSI Accredited Product Certification Program, the ANSI Accredited Personnel Certification Program and the Accredited Program – ANSI and the Conference for Food Protection.
